Tennessee has an opening on staff.
Tennessee lost a member of its staff this week as Rod Clark opted to head north to Indiana. Clark will join Darian DeVries’ first year staff in Bloomington looking to help rebuild the Hoosiers.

Clark has been a part of back-to-back runs to the Elite Eight with Rick Barnes and the Vols.

Clark joined the Tennessee staff back in 2021. He’s credited with helping bring guys like Kennedy Chandler, Julian Phillips, Dalton Knecht and Chaz Lanier to Knoxville. Clark spent time at Austin Peay and Illinois-Chicago before arriving at Tennessee.
“Rod was great,” Rick Barnes said this week. “But you know what, we feel like we’ve got that position covered and … I’m sure he’ll do a good job at Indiana, but we’ve got it covered, because there’s a lot of people that obviously would love to be at the University of Tennessee, in my job, but we’re excited about the direction that we’re going, and we’ve got it pretty much filled.”
If you want to play a quick game of connect the dots here, you’ll be led directly for former Texas coach Rodney Terry, who worked for several years as Barnes’ right hand man in Austin. Could we see a reunion there on Rocky Top? Many thought this would happen the second Texas fired Terry last month.
Justin Gainey, Gregg Polinsky, Bryan Lentz and Lucas Campbell currently remain on staff. Whatever the next move is, it sounds like it’s already almost to the finish line.
