There have been plenty of highlights in this Saturday’s game between Duke and Tennessee. Unfortunately, some of them are being overshadowed by horrible officiating.
During the second half of action, the officials called a foul on Tyrese Proctor even though it was actually on Jeremy Roach. That call allowed Roach, who had four personal fouls at the time, to stay in the game
A few moments later, the refs called an offensive foul on Kyle Filipowski that should’ve been a three-point play. Tennessee then knocked down a 3-pointer on the very next possession.
As you’d expect, the college basketball world voiced its displeasure with today’s officiating crew.

“So refs are allowed to just change who the foul was on to keep the game close,” one person said. “Got it.”

“These refs have no clue what they’re doing,” another person tweeted. “Zero consistency.”

At the end of the day, referees make mistakes. This is nothing new to sports fans.
However, the NCAA should demand better from its officiating crews in March.
