Christian Moore just had a breakthrough for the Los Angeles Angels in a very big way on Tuesday night. The former Vol slugged two home runs in the late innings to tie the game at 1 then win it in extras walk off style 3-2.
Moore became the first player in MLB history to hit a game-tying home run, a walk off home run, and drive in all of his team’s runs in the same game. Talk about doing it all.

And it wasn’t easy at first, thanks in part to one former Vol. Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet was absolutely dealing, as he held the Angels scoreless, allowing just 3 hits while striking out 10 through 7 innings. He also sat down Moore twice on strikes.
But Moore and the Angels ended up on the better end of things. In the bottom of the eighth, Moore slugged a pitch to the left field corner and into the seats to tie the game at 1. Then, down 2-1 in the bottom of the tenth, Moore took a fastball the other way that just got over the yellow line in right center field. He slid into third, as it wasn’t clear it got out, but then they signaled home run, and he trotted home to his elated teammates waiting for him at home plate.
It was a remarkable night for Moore, who will have a whole lot more fans in Southern California after Tuesday. And that’s just the start of what should be a strong career for the former Tennessee infielder.
