College Football Analyst Names Most ‘Talented’ Transfer Player

August 22, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

AJ McCarron of the Alabama Crimson Tide celebrates their 49-0 win over the Chattanooga Mocs at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

As if the Alabama Crimson Tide weren’t already talented enough, they also landed what one college football analyst called the most “talented” transfer in the nation this offseason.

Brad Crawford of 247Sports called Henry To’o To’o the most “talented” transfer in college football this cycle. To’o To’o, of course, left the Tennessee Volunteers for the Alabama Crimson Tide this past offseason. He figures to be the star of the Alabama defense later this fall.

“Henry To’o To’o is already establishing himself as a leader with the Crimson Tide and thus far, is exactly what Nick Saban thought he was getting as a dynamic player at the linebacker spot,” Crawford wrote via 247Sports. “Paired with Christian Harris at the heart of that Alabama defense, it’s hard to imagine there being a more athletic linebacker pairing in the SEC. To’o To’o was a 4-star prospect in the 2019 class, so he own the elite-level pedigree that Alabama expects. The California native made 68 tackles with 7 1/2 for loss in just nine games last season at Tennessee, and now he will be surrounded by even more talent with the Crimson Tide.”

It sounds like the Alabama defense is in great shape. To’o To’o could be an All-American linebacker by the end of the season.

This is obviously good news for the Crimson Tide, but also spells trouble for the Tennessee Volunteers. Losing your best player to one of your biggest rivals hurts, no matter how you spin it.

To make matters worse, To’o To’o will face off against his former team on Oct. 23 in Tuscaloosa. We have a feeling that one could get chippy.

To’o To’o should have a big year playing for the Crimson Tide.
