A big game gets bigger.
The decision is in — College Gameday is headed to Norman, Oklahoma next weekend for Tennessee-Oklahoma. The Volunteers will welcome the Sooners to the SEC in a primetime showdown on ABC.

The game will serve as Oklahoma’s first ever conference game in the SEC. Tennessee last visited Norman back in 2014, which ended up being a 34-10 loss. The Sooners traveled to Knoxville in 2015, famously coming back to win in overtime 31-24.
And now there’s a new wrinkle in this matchup. Former Oklahoma quarterback Josh Heupel is set to return to his old stomping grounds, where he led the Sooners to a National Championship in 2000. He would later return to Norman as an assistant coach, eventually becoming the offensive coordinator. He was let go following the 2014 season. Needless to say, Saturday means a little something to Heupel, regardless of how well he plays it off.
Tennessee has started the season white hot, led by redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava. They passed their first test last weekend against NC State, winning with suffocating defense.
Oklahoma has been a bit of a mixed bag so far, but they were able to bounce back today with a nice win over a good Tulane team.
Perhaps the only question left for this Tennessee group is playing in a hostile environment, and the Volunteers will get a chance to answer that a week from tonight.
