Dalton Knecht had his best NBA Summer League outing to date on Wednesday night against the Miami Heat, scoring 20 points. The former Tennessee guard handled a team-high 31 minutes on the night, and didn’t waste any time getting going.
Knecht drilled a three in transition in the opening minutes of the contest, then smashed his way to the basket for an and-one opportunity shortly after. He’d drill a corner three after that, then proceeded to do the majority of the rest of his scoring around the rim with a few dunks off of some nice passes.
The highlights below should look pretty familiar.

Knecht added nine rebounds and one assist on the night. He shot 7-18 from the field and 2-8 from three-point range as his surprising early struggles from long range continued.
Knecht’s 20 points weren’t enough for the Lakers to pull out the win, however. The Heat prevailed, 80-76, dropping Los Angeles to 0-3 in summer league play.
The Lakers will now shift to the Las Vegas portion of their summer schedule, set to face the Houston Rockets on Friday night.
