We knew Tennessee was headed back to Madison Square Garden this year, and we now have a date. The Volunteers will take on the Miami Hurricanes on December 10th at 6:30 p.m. ET. ESPN will carry the game.

Michigan and Arkansas will follow at 9 p.m. ET as a part of the doubleheader.
The Jimmy V Classic heads into its 30th year this season — it’s 21st at Madison Square Garden. Tennessee will be making their third appearance in the event. You probably remember 2021’s hideous matchup with Texas Tech, where the Vols dropped a 57-52 decision in overtime. Tennessee also lost to Virginia back in 2000.
Tennessee is 6-9 all-time at Madison Square Garden. The Volunteers are 3-1 all-time against Miami, but they haven’t faced the Hurricanes since 1996.
After back to back deep runs in the NCAA Tournament, Miami took a big step backwards last season. The Hurricanes ended up with a 15-17 overall record, finishing 14th in the ACC. They’re currently projected to be one of the final teams to make the NCAA Tournament, according to Joe Lunardi’s early projections.
Tennessee is also set to travel to Louisville, host Syracuse and participate in the Baha Mar Bahamas Hoops Championship, which will feature Baylor, Virginia and St. John’s.
