Will he choose Tennessee?
Big-time Tennessee target Travis Smith has been winding his recruiting process down over the last couple of months, and he’s set to make a decision on Saturday. The four-star wide receiver will make his choice between massive traditional SEC powers Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Auburn.

Notably, Tennessee has picked up a crystal ball projection from On3’s Steve Wiltfong this week. The Volunteers have moved into the projected favorite spot here, taking that position from Georgia, per 247Sports.

Smith is the 111th ranked player in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The Atlanta product checks in at 6-1, 191 pounds and is the 16th ranked receiver prospect in the country. Smith is the 14th ranked prospect in the always-loaded Peach State.
Smith is coming off official visits to each of his four finalists last month. He saw Georgia, Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee in that order in over the span of four weeks, giving him the ability to see each school one final time. The Volunteers made their final impression back on June 21st, which was his fourth reported visit to Knoxville. Smith was in town last fall for both the Georgia and Texas A&M games.
Tennessee currently holds two wide receiver commitments in their class of 2025 — four-star Radarius Jackson and three-star Joakim Dodson. The Volunteers currently rank 15th in the 2025 class rankings, according to 247Sports. Landing Smith would obviously provide a big boost there.
We’ll have more on Smith’s decision on Saturday.
