There’s no offseason for high-level high school basketball prospects around the country. For five-star class of 2027 prospect Malachi Jordan, the summer season has been filled with opportunities to showcase his talent.
It began in April, when Jordan participated in the 2025 Men’s Junior National Team minicamp in San Antonio.
“It was a great experience, you know, blessed to be able to even get that chance,” Jordan told ZAGSBLOG. “Not a lot of people get that chance to go to try to represent the USA. And it was the greatest experience. Like the coaches, they were very cool. We got to go to the Final Four games. It was a cool off-court experience. I made some good relationships off the court with other players.”
A few months later, Jordan is playing for Team Mokan in the Nike EYBL Circuit. The 6-foot-6 guard/wing has contributed 10.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game for Mokan’s 16u squad so far this season.
“I just want to go with my teammates, you know, win the Peach Jam championship and win the rest of our games going on,” Jordan said.
As a versatile wing, Jordan is a prototypical prospect at the next level. He recently showcased his skills at the Nike Elite 100 Camp and was among several players at the event tabbed as standouts by coaches.
“I am a three-way scorer,” Jordan said. “I take pride in playing defense.”

Jordan’s skillset has attracted the attention of a big list of college programs. Since the contact period opened on June 15, Jordan has been offered by Alabama and Auburn and heard from Arizona, Indiana, LSU, Missouri, Ohio State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Jordan holds previous offers from Arizona State, Indiana, Memphis, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt. He’s taken an unofficial visit to Tennessee when they beat Alabama at the buzzer thanks to Jahmai Mashack.
The five-star broke down a couple of these schools.
Tennessee: “It was just a great experience. They took us like into this VIP room. The food was good. We got really good seats right beside the court. I got to talk to the head coach, Rick Barnes.“
Missouri: “The coach [Dennis Gates] talks to me a whole bunch, just gives me pointers on what I should do better and stuff. He’s always watching our games.”
Jordan’s focus is on finding a program that can push him to be the NBA-level player he has always dreamed of being.
“I just want a program that I know is going to develop me to my fullest potential, whatever you need to get for the NBA,” he said.
Until then, Jordan just wants to be a player focused on his growth on the court.
“I’ve been growing on my game,” he said. “l’m very talkative. I want them to see how much of a leader I am. I play defense. I’m a two-way player; I can shoot.| know last year was it was a little rocky. First session. My shot was a little rocky, but I went back to the lab and I worked on it.”
Jordan is the No. 18 player in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports. His favorite NBA player is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the toughest player he has ever had to guard is Scottie Adkinson and his favorite hobby off the court is to draw.
