Alabama’s Will Anderson faced no shortage of talent coming off the edge in the SEC, but one offensive lineman in particular gave him fits the All-American says.
Via Evan Lazar of Patriots.com, Anderson revealed his toughest challenge over his three years in Tuscaloosa was trying to get around Tennessee’s Darnell Wright.
Per Lazar: “Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson, a likely top-five pick, says that Tennessee’s Darnell Wright is the best OT he faced in college. Anderson mentioned how much better Wright got year-to-year. Pointed to his ability to mirror rushers and anchor at his size.”
Adding, “Wright had a great game against Anderson last season. So I’m not surprised that he gave kudos to him.”
Wright was a top-10 player in his class coming out of high school and worked his way up to being a unanimous All-Conference performer.
The 6-foot-6, 335-pound OT didn’t give up a single sack in 13 games this season and he’s projected to come off the board Day 1 of this year’s draft.
