Former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum is feeling bullish about one particular quarterback prospect this year.
It’s not one of the four highest-rated signal callers either, a group consisting of Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State’s CJ Stroud, Florida’s Anthony Richardson and Kentucky’s Will Levis.
No, Tannenbaum is a big fan of Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker, who he thinks will wind up being the best player at his position in this year’s class.
“Good to see you have @henhook2 in the first round. He’ll be the best QB from this year’s draft,” Tannenbaum said in response to colleague Mel Kiper’s latest mock draft.

Tannenbaum isn’t the only person with an affinity for Hooker, who put together two impressive seasons after transferring in from Virginia Tech.
In fact, Danny Kanell recently said he would take the 25-year-old quarterback over Levis and Richardson in particular.
However, putting Hooker as the top dog overall is noteworthy. This tweet from Tannenbaum is going to look really prescient or really foolish in a couple of years.
