A much-needed addition.
Tennessee baseball picked up another big one late on Sunday out of the transfer portal. The Volunteers picked up right-handed starting pitcher Landon Mack, who hit the portal after spending his freshman season at Rutgers.
Good scoop here from @CFreemanScout on former #Rutgers RHP Landon Mack to @Vol_Baseball. Mack finished the 2025 season with a 4.03 ERA in 80.1 innings of work.

This was a Tennessee-LSU battle from the jump, and the Volunteers have won the battle in the end. Mack was on campus in early June for his official visit.
Mack started 15 games for the Scarlett Knights, going 6-5 on the season. He finished the year with a 4.03 ERA over 80 innings pitched. Mack struck out 70 batters on the year and was named a second-team Freshman All-American by Baseball America.
Notably, Mack is not draft eligible and does have three seasons of eligibility remaining. Tennessee had an obvious need for a starter with Liam Doyle and Marcus Phillips on the way out. Mack will be a frontrunner now for the Friday starting slot in 2026.
Mack is originally out of New Jersey and was ranked as the 392nd overall prospect in the class of 2024 by Perfect Game. He’s the ninth addition out of the portal for the Volunteers, who are once again reloading with hopes of going back to Omaha after coming up just short this season.
