A nice addition on the defensive front.
Tennessee added another name to their 2025 class on Wednesday morning, earning a commitment from four-star edge rusher Jayden Loftin. The New Jersey native has two other official visits scheduled, but he didn’t feel the need to wait.

The 6-4, 250 pound pass rusher ranks 344th overall, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Loftin is out of Somerville, New Jersey, where he ranks as the 12th best player in the state. Loftin checks in as the 27th best edge prospect in the class of 2025.
Loftin chose Tennessee over offers from Syracuse, Wisconsin, Boston College, Nebraska, Penn State, South Carolina and many more. He was set up for official visits to Nebraska, Penn State and Syracuse in the coming days.
Loftin took his official visit to Knoxville this past weekend. After spending time with both Rodney Garner and Mike Ekeler, that was enough for Loftin to go ahead and make a decision.
One thing to note here — already at 250 pounds, it’s entirely possible that Loftin ends up shifting to more of a strongside defensive end role. We’ll see where he lands once he gets on campus next year.
He joins a 2025 class that features top 150 overall defensive line prospect Ethan Utley, who committed back in the spring. Tennessee is now up to 11 overall commits total for the class, which currently ranks 19th in the country.
