The 6-5 prospect is out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Evans ranks 83rd overall in the class of 2025, according to On3’s Industry Rankings. He currently plays in the Overtime Elite league, based out of Atlanta, Georgia.
Evans is thought of as a natural Rick Barnes guard — length, defensive ability, competitive and versatile. Last season in the Overtime Elite league, Evans averaged just over ten points per game. He added 2.2 steals per game, while shooting 29 percent from three-point range. Evans scored 20 points in his first game this season, hitting 3-5 shots from long range.
Evans joins four-star center DeWayne Brown in Tennessee’s 2025 class.
Tennessee is going to have plenty of room on the roster to replace following this season. Zakai Zeigler, Jahmai Mashack, Chaz Lanier, Darlinstone Dubar and Igor Milicic will all run out of eligibility, leaving Rick Barnes will another reload on his hands. Tennessee has been involved with a handful of elite prospects to this point, a few of which that have already taken official visits to Knoxville.
Roster construction is as complicated as ever in college basketball now, but the Volunteers have a nice start to some homegrown talent with two four-stars already in the class.
