He’s all Vol.
One of Tennessee’s top commitments in the class of 2026 is shutting things down. Four-star wide receiver Tyreek King announced on Monday that he will no longer be talking to other schools, fully committing to Tennessee. The Knoxville native will be staying home.

King, a 5-10, 168 pound receiver, attends Knoxville Catholic just down the road from the campus of the University of Tennessee. He ranks as the 88th overall player in the class of 2026, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. King is the fourth ranked player in the state of Tennessee.
King committed to Tennessee on Halloween of 2024. The offers and interest didn’t stop coming his way, however. Florida State, Texas, Missouri, USC and Maryland were a few of his new offers post-commitment. There was some real push from USC and Maryland to get King on campus for a visit, but on Monday he shut all that down with his announcement.
In Tennessee’s class of 2026, King ranks as the second highest ranked prospect. He fall behind only No. 1 overall player Faizon Brandon, who figures to be the future of the Tennessee quarterback room.
Tennessee has an obvious need at wide receiver after flipping nearly the entire room over this offseason. Frankly, those immediate needs weren’t exactly filled. Josh Heupel and his staff will lean on youth in the rotation behind Chris Brazzell, Mike Matthews and Braylon Staley. King will lead the next influx of talent at the position, currently joined by three-star prospect Tyran Evans in the class.
King has his official visit to Tennessee lined up for June 20th. On what should be a big recruiting weekend for the Volunteers, King will now be looking to get other top prospects to join him on Rocky Top in 2026.
