Big get.

The class of 2024 is pretty much wrapped up, and it’s that time of year where programs begin to go full steam ahead on the following group(s). Obviously work has already been well underway on the 2025 class — that much was evident when Tennessee pulled an early commitment from four-star tight end Jack VanDorselaer.

The 6-4, 225 pound tight end chose Tennessee on Sunday afternoon, picking the Volunteers over offers from Alabama, LSU, Texas, USC and several others.

According to 247Sports, VanDorselaer is the 190th ranked prospect in the class of 2025. He’s the 11th ranked tight end in the class, coming out of the loaded state of Texas. VanDorselaer will be going into his senior year this fall at Southlake Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas.

Tennessee offered VanDorselaer about a year ago during his first trip to campus. He returned back in the fall to take in Tennessee’s win over South Carolina on September 30th.

The Volunteers have been working to revamp the tight end position this offseason after losing both Jacob Warren and McCallan Castles. Former four-star prospect Ethan Davis is expected to step up, while Notre Dame transfer Holden Staes was a big-time get out of the portal. Tennessee also signed three-star prospect Cole Harrison.

VanDorselaer keeps that line moving, giving Alec Abeln a major recruiting win to start the 2025 cycle.

VanDorselaer is the fifth commitment of Tennessee’s 2025 class. He joins three-star cornerbacks Tyler Redmond, Dylan Lewis and Shamar Arnoux, along with three-star running back Justin Baker. The Volunteers currently rank 12th in 247Sports’ class rankings.
