It’s all on the line tonight.
The Tennessee Volunteers are on the road tonight after a long homestand, set to face the Georgia Bulldogs in a huge matchup that has ramifications everywhere. This one could determine the SEC Championship matchup and it might also determine an at-large spot in the College Football Playoff.
Georgia has to have this one to stay alive, and Tennessee could pretty much cement their status as an at-large bid win a win. A Tennessee loss? Well, things get dicey from there, based on how the committee ranked the Vols this week.
Nico Iamaleava and Dont’e Thornton have both been cleared to play — an obvious huge boost for the Volunteers. Georgia will be without top running back Trevor Etienne. The Bulldogs will have to lean even more on quarterback Carson Beck, who has really struggled over the last three games.
Beck against this stout Tennessee defense might just be the determining matchup tonight.
