Do or die.
Tennessee’s season is on the line once again on Sunday afternoon after dropping game No. 1 to Arkansas on Saturday evening. The Volunteers took the lead with a two-run shot in the middle innings, but the Razorbacks found one of their own to reclaim the lead. An Andrew Fischer homerun late got Tennessee back to within one, but that’s all they could muster.
Tony Vitello will now turn to ace starter and SEC pitcher of the year, Liam Doyle. The future top ten pick closed things out on Monday against Wake Forest and will get the ball with the season on the mound this afternoon.
Arkansas will be looking to close things out and advance to their 12th College World Series appearance. The Hogs got the best of Doyle a few weeks ago, but he was nursing a lingering blister. Doyle went just 4.2 innings and gave up six runs. Tennessee will need him at his best this afternoon to stay alive.
