Another tune-up after a tournament win.
Tennessee returns home tonight following a win over Baylor for the Baha Mar Championship in the Bahamas. The Volunteers picked up two resume-building wins last week, putting them on track to begin SEC play as one of the top projected seeds in the country.
Tennessee still has Syracuse, Miami and Illinois left on the non-conference schedule. The Vols are up to No. 7 in the latest AP top 25 poll.
The Vols announced that center JP Estrella would miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his foot. Cam Carr is also dealing with an injury and will be out until around Christmas, per Rick Barnes. All of that to say, games like this are big for guys like Darlinstone Dubar, Cade Phillips and Bishop Boswell. They’ll get another chance to settle into the rotation this afternoon ahead of some big games coming up.
