Milton will get a chance to shine at the NFL’s premier all-star event.
Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton has been invited to Mobile to take part in the Reese’s Senior Bowl, according to Tennessee analyst McKenzie Milton. Milton posted a picture congratulating Joe on the invite on Thursday morning.
Proud of my guy @Qbjayy7 on the @seniorbowl invite today! He will sky rocket up draft boards through this process. Let’s go finish this year off the right way!! #GBO pic.twitter.com/j0xnbXptGC

Milton had quite a bit of hype entering the season, coming off of a strong close to 2022 while replacing the injured Hendon Hooker. The Florida native took apart the Clemson defense in the Orange Bowl, but that production really didn’t carry over to 2023.
The Tennessee offense took a big step back from 2022, struggling to get anything going down the field all year long. The issues weren’t all on Milton, as Tennessee struggled with drops and injuries at receiver. Still, overall, Milton failed to deliver on his one final chance to really prove himself to be an NFL prospect.
However, something you’ll never be able to take from Joe are his raw abilities. An athletic 6-5 frame along with perhaps the best arm in all of football — Milton is still going to generate plenty of interest from teams looking to take a flier. Those talents will be on full display during Senior Bowl week, where Milton will get a chance to practice in front of NFL executives and scouts in hopes of boosting his NFL Draft stock. He’ll get a chance to do that once again at the NFL Combine a month later.
Milton finished his senior regular season — the sixth of his college career — throwing for 2,813 yards. He completed nearly 65 percent of his attempts, tossing 20 touchdowns against just five interceptions. Milton added 299 yards on the ground, scoring seven touchdowns.
Scouts and analysts will undoubtedly criticize Milton’s lack of decision making in the Tennessee offense, as Josh Heupel and Joey Halzle really leaned hard on the perimeter screen game. If scouts dinged Hendon Hooker for his role in the offense last year, Milton is going to hear very similar thoughts. He’ll get a chance to operate in a pro-style look in Mobile, working with current NFL coaches.
Senior Bowl week is slated for January 29th through February 3rd. ESPN and NFL Network will have coverage throughout the week during the practice sessions.
