Big news.
Tennessee received some good news on Monday afternoon as the 2025 MLB Draft rolls on, getting word from Brandon Arvidson that he will return to the program next season. The lefty was a key piece of the staff down the stretch, turning in big performances against Texas in Hoover and Wake Forest in the Knoxville Regional.

Arvidson turned in over 38 innings of work in 2025, coming away with a 4.19 ERA. The 6-5 left-hander struck out 70 batters against 22 walks in his first season with Tennessee. He now has a chance for a majorly expanded role next season with the Volunteers losing so many arms to the draft.
Tennessee saw Liam Doyle and Marcus Phillips come off the board in the first round on Sunday night. The Volunteers also had Nate Snead, AJ Russell and Tanner Franklin go later in the night. Dylan Loy also exited via the transfer portal.
Arvidson will be a redshirt junior next season after starting his career with Texas A&M back in 2023. He’ll be a prime candidate to move into a weekend starter role, along with Rutgers transfer Landon Mack. Arvidson could easily become a first round prospect in next season’s draft should all go well next spring in an expanded role.
