The Tennessee Volunteers have had South Carolina’s number this college basketball season. And with another huge blowout on Saturday, Rick Barnes’ team made some impressive history.
Per the SEC Network, UT is the first SEC team since the 50’s with multiple 40+ points wins against a conference opponent.
Fans were impressed by the No. 11 Vols’ performance on social media.
“That’s for ruining [Tennessee Football’s] playoffs ….. even though that felt self induced,” a user said.
“Talk about consistency….” another tweeted.
“They can hang this next to their one Elite Eight banner and NIT banners,” a fan replied.
“At least we held them to 85 both games.”
“Good to know that it won’t help the deep run in March that we won’t have,” a Tennessee fan commented.
“Of course during the regular season when it doesn’t count,” another user laughed.
UT moved to 21-8 with the win and a 10-6 record in SEC play.
