The starter will likely miss the rest of the on-field offseason.
Tennessee will be missing a key piece of its offense for the remainder of the spring, and perhaps fall camp as well. According to Volquest’s Austin Price, starting tight end Miles Kitselman will miss the rest of offseason activity with a pectoral injury.

Per the report, Kitselman will miss “extended time” and has already undergone surgery to repair the issue.
Kitselman caught 22 passes for 301 yards and four touchdowns in his first season as a Volunteer after transferring in from Alabama. He arrived at Tennessee as a bit of an afterthought, particularly after the team had already added Notre Dame transfer Holden Staes. It quickly became apparent that the staff preferred Kitselman as the top tight end on the field.
The former JUCO product has one season of eligibility remaining. He returns to the program in hopes of making a similar impact in 2025 as a do-it-all player in Josh Heupel’s offense.
Behind Kitselman, Tennessee has third-year player Ethan Davis. Redshirt freshman Cole Harrison enters his second year with the program, while highly-touted freshmen Jack VanDorselaer and DaSaahn Brame enter the equation this spring.
So Kitselman joins top cornerback Jermod McCoy as question marks looking ahead to the fall. Will either be ready for fall camp? Will either be ready for the opener? Building depth at both positions has to be a priority for the remainder of the spring, just in case.
