Saban’s run is done.
It’s finally happened — Nick Saban has retired at Alabama. The legendary head man in Tuscaloosa is stepping down after a wildly successful run with the Crimson Tide.
Chris Low had the bombshell news this afternoon.
Nick Saban is retiring, sources tell ESPN. He won six national titles at Alabama.

Saban went 201-29 during his 17 year run at the helm of Alabama football. He walks away at 72 years old after winning seven national titles — six at Alabama and one with LSU.
Alabama is now left with a massive decision, perhaps one of the most important hires of all time. They don’t exactly have anyone cut out for the job already on staff, meaning this hire will have to come from the outside? Can they lure a Dan Lanning away from Oregon? Would Dabo Swinney be interested after a couple of down years at Clemson?
The next several days will be absolutely fascinating to watch play out. We’ve got a new era of SEC football, and Nick Saban won’t be a part of it. Wild.
