All of the details.
After breezing through the Knoxville Regional last weekend, Tennessee will be back in action on Friday afternoon in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Volunteers will host a best-of-three series against Evansville this weekend in the Super Regional round.
The winner will advance to the College World Series.
Here’s the official schedule, which was released by the NCAA on Tuesday morning.
Evansville at No. 1 Tennessee weekend schedule
FRIDAY: 3 p.m. (ESPN2)
SATURDAY: 11 a.m. (ESPN2)
SUNDAY (if needed): 6 p.m. (ESPNU)
Evansville is just the ninth ever No. 4 seed to advance to the supers. They managed to come away with an opening game win on No. 16 national seed East Carolina on Friday, then beat VCU on Saturday. ECU forced a monday matchup for all the marbles, but the Purple Aces came through one more time.
Evansville sits at 38-24 on the season. They made the NCAA Tournament by winning the Missouri Valley Conference, and obviously stayed hot last weekend. Evansville enters the weekend with a 4-8 mark in Quad 1 games.
Speaking of staying hot, Tennessee was never even pressed in their regional. Three straight blowout wins have the Volunteers cruising here, and they get another weekend at home with a trip to Omaha on the line.
