Another answer at shooting guard.
Tennessee has added another piece of the 2025-26 puzzle, earning a commitment from French prospect Clarence Massamba. The 6-5 guard played for AS Monaco Basket, a professional basketball club based out of Monaco.
Massamba averaged 9.8 points per game last season playing for the U21 squad. He shot 44 percent from the field and 34 percent from three-point range.
“We are happy to welcome Clarence and his family to the Tennessee basketball program,” Rick Barnes said via release. “Once we identified Clarence as a player of interest, we immediately became excited about his impressive upside.”
Massamba played two seasons of high school ball in Gainesville, Florida, attending The Rock High School. He averaged 13 points per game in his final season there, shooting 43 percent from three-point range.
“He is a long, athletic, versatile guard who can really attack in the open court,” Barnes continued. “He is good with the ball in his hands, yet also possesses the ability to excel without it. Clarence has a nice feel for the game and an excellent basketball IQ. He is a hard-working, driven young man who plays with a chip on his shoulder and our fans will love seeing the way he competes.”
Massamba is the fifth prep prospect in Tennessee’s class of 2025. He joins NBA prospect Nate Ament in the group, along with four-star guard Amari Evans, four-star big man DeWayne Brown and three-star point guard Troy Henderson. Tennessee has also added point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie, shooting guard Amaree Abram and power forward Jaylen Carey out of the transfer portal.
Tennessee has one open scholarship left to fill.
