He could be a big piece of Tennessee’s 2026 puzzle.
Tennessee’s big push for five-star interior lineman Darius Gray continued over the weekend. The touted prospect took his official visit to Knoxville over the weekend, and it would appear that things went pretty well.
According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Gray says that Tennessee “stands at the top of the board” following his visit.

Gray has seen Tennessee several times now since picking up an offer in the spring of 2023. He was also on campus earlier this year for spring practice back in March.
Tennessee is working to hold off several other top programs for Gray. The elite prospect is will see Ohio State, Auburn, LSU, Penn State and South Carolina in the coming weeks. He’s seen Georgia and Clemson recently, along with Virginia and Virginia Tech. Gray comes out of Richmond, Virginia.
The 6-3, 285 pound prospect was regarded as a top performer at the 2025 Navy All-American Bowl, showing out against some of the top prospects in the country. Gray is a two-way player in high school, manning the left tackle spot and also putting up eight sacks from his defensive line post. He also plays basketball where he averaged 12 points per game as a junior.
Tennessee has the makings of a big time 2026 class, now with momentum with Gray. The Volunteers kicked things off by landing No. 1 overall player Faizon Brandon, and the rumor mill surrounding five-star receiver Tristen Keys has ramped up in recent days. Five-star running back Savion Hiter will take his official visit to Knoxville in a couple of weeks.
We should know a lot more by the end of the month once all these official visits wrap up.
