The Vols are on the move despite not playing a single game.

The Tennessee Volunteers haven’t even played a game yet and they’re already moving up in the polls? How so? Well, voters left out teams from the Big Ten and Pac-12 this week, creating a ranking for those teams set to participate in the 2020 season.

For what it’s worth, the Big Ten could reverse course and play as early as October. For now though, these are the polls that we have.

Tennessee moved up to No. 17 in the coaches poll, while shooting all the way to No. 15 in the AP poll. Tennessee debuted at No. 25 in the AP poll last month, while they were unranked by the coaches.

The SEC makes up six of the top ten spots in the coaches poll.
