It’s all set.
The time is set for Tennessee-Oklahoma on September 21st in Norman. Josh Heupel will return to his old stomping grounds for a night kick — 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. It will be Tennessee’s second time already in the ABC prime time night slot.

Tennessee improved to 2-0 over the weekend with a 51-10 thrashing of NC State. The Volunteers were dominant up front all night long, holding Grayson McCall and the Wolfpack offense to under 150 total yards on the night. Nico Iamaleava scored three more total touchdowns, while Dylan Sampson put up another 132 yards on the ground.
The Volunteers move forward to face Kent State on Saturday.
Oklahoma also improved to 2-0 last weekend, but it was much more dicey. Houston gave the Sooners all they wanted in Norman, as Oklahoma narrowly escaped with an ugly 16-12 win. Oklahoma hosts a solid Tulane team this Saturday afternoon.
This game serves as the first true ‘swing game’ for both sides. This one could go either way and will undoubtedly set the trajectory for each team going forward. For Tennessee it’s one of three massive meetings on the 2024 slate, joining Alabama and Georgia.
A win in Norman would set the wheels in motion towards at least a 10-2 final record, which would more than likely put them in the College Football Playoff. A loss here probably means you’re going to have to beat one of Alabama or Georgia to secure your bid.
Between the playoff implications, Jackson Arnold vs. Nico Iamaleava and the Heupel storyline, September 21st is setting up to be a massive night.
