
The preseason poll is out.
Tennessee basketball will once again start the season as a top 15 team. The preseason AP top 25 was revealed on Monday, and the Volunteers checked in at No. 12.
Kansas claimed the top spot in the media poll, with Alabama, UConn, Houston and Iowa State trailing.
In the SEC, Auburn checked in just ahead of Tennessee at No. 11, while Texas A&M trailed at No. 13. John Calipari’s Arkansas team debuts at No. 16 in the poll, while Kentucky just snuck in at No. 23.
Texas at No. 19, Florida at No. 21 and Ole Miss at No. 24 rounded out the poll for the SEC.
Indiana, who Tennessee will scrimmage in a couple of weeks, begins ranked 17th.
The media also made their picks for the Southeastern Conference, selecting Alabama to take home the title. Auburn was picked to finish second, while Tennessee came in third. Point guard Zakai Zeigler was voted to the First-Team All-SEC squad.
