The matchup — and full schedule — is set.
The Tennessee Volunteers are headed to Omaha for the third time in the past four seasons. The No. 1 team in the land — and the No. 1 overall national seed — ousted Evansville on Sunday night after dropping game two on Saturday.
The Evansville bats couldn’t keep up on Sunday, as Tennessee blasted homerun after homerun on their way to a 12-1 victory. Zander Sechrist was dominant on the mound, tossing 6.1 innings and giving up just one unearned run.
Tennessee moves on now to the College World Series, where they’ll open on Friday night against Florida State. The Seminoles are the No. 8 national seed, holding a 47-15 record on the season. Florida State got past UConn in the Super Regionals to advance.
