The Tennessee Volunteers are set to host their first option in the transfer portal. Former Hofstra forward Darlinstone Dubar will visit Knoxville this weekend, according to multiple reports.

Tennessee is looking to replace plenty of production vacated by Dalton Knecht, who joined the Volunteers out of the portal last season. Rick Barnes will also be looking to replace veterans Santiago Vescovi and Josiah-Jordan James. Now with Jonas Aidoo and Tobe Awaka hitting the transfer portal, Tennessee has needs across the board.
Dubar averaged over 17 points per game for Hofstra this season. Standing in a 6-8, he would bring some suddenly-needed size to the Tennessee lineup.
Dubar spent three seasons at Hofstra after transferring in from Iowa State after his freshman season. The 2023-24 season was a career best for him, where he averaged 17.8 points per game. Dubar shot over 53 percent from the floor and nearly 40 percent from three-point range.
Per Synergy Basketball, Dubar was one of the most efficient offensive players in the country this season.

Obviously with Knecht out the door, Tennessee needs to add some three-point shooting back to this roster. Dubar would certainly do that for Rick Barnes.
Belmont’s Cade Tyson is another option in the portal.
