Another trip to New York.
Tennessee will once again play in a premier early-season college basketball event this season, returning to New York City. The Volunteers will take on Miami at Madison Square Garden, participating in the Jimmy V Classic this December.
Michigan-Arkansas will also face off in the event.

Tennessee last faced Miami during the 1996-97 season. They hold a 3-1 overall record against the Hurricanes.
Tennessee’s non-conference schedule currently consists of a road game at Illinois and an appearance in the Baha Mar Hoops Tournament. Baylor, St. John’s and Virginia are the other teams participating in that event.
The Volunteers are no stranger to New York. Tennessee has made appearances at Madison Square Garden in 2021 and 2023, while also playing in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn during the 2015, 2018 and 2023 seasons. The Vols appeared in the Jimmy V Classic back in 2021, losing an ugly rock fight to Texas Tech.
Rick Barnes will have a chance to show the country his new-look squad in New York, which will feature potentially four transfers in the starting lineup. Chaz Lanier, Darlinstone Dubar, Igor Milicic and Felix Okpara will hope to fill the shoes of the departing Dalton Knecht, Santiago Vescovi, Josiah-Jordan James, Jonas Aidoo and Tobe Awaka.
Minor note: Aidoo will also be at the event with his new team, the Arkansas Razorbacks.
