The entries, the offers, the targets — all of it.
As of Monday, December 4th, the transfer portal is officially open for business. The next few weeks are going to get wild as players are now free to explore their options. With the introduction of NIL money, the portal has exploded in popularity, completely reshaping the college football landscape each offseason.
Things are going to happen quickly, so let’s try to keep track of all the moves below. We’ll have all of Tennessee’s departure and offers, along with some notes about the most prominent names hitting the portal from around the country.
Monday, Dec 4
- Tennessee OFFERS UConn TE Justin Joly. This has been a fan-favorite potential target since Joly put up eight catches for 89 yards against the Volunteers last month. Tennessee has a huge need at tight end with both Jacob Warren and McCallan Castles leaving.
- Oklahoma QB Dillon Gabriel will enter the transfer portal.
- Freshman safety Jack Luttrell has entered the transfer portal. Luttrell signed with Tennessee last year as a three-star prospect out of Georgia.
- Veteran cornerback Brandon Turnage will not return to Tennessee for his COVID season. Turnage transferred in a few years ago from Alabama, but never was able to find solid playing time.
- Texas A&M DT Walter Nolen entered the transfer portal on Sunday night. The Knoxville product and former five-star prospect has been as advertised at the college level, and should have quite the demand in the portal. Expect every top program to try to get in the mix here. Could Tennessee convince him to come home?
- Ohio State QB Kyle McCord has entered the portal. McCord struggled for the Buckeyes this year, and now will get a chance for a fresh start.
Older entries
- Reserve offensive lineman Mo Clipper has hit the portal.
- Cornerback Warren Burrell kicks things off by entering the portal as a grad-transfer.
