The 2025 Major League Baseball draft will take place this Sunday in Atlanta to kick off the MLB All-Star week, and for a second straight year, the Tennessee Vols factor in heavily into the event.
Tony Vitello will join the broadcast on Sunday as a guest analyst, which is the second straight year and third time in the last four that he’s done that.
Coach V is back as a guest analyst for this year’s @MLBDraft!
He’ll join the @MLBNetwork crew in Atlanta on Sunday night to help break down this year’s picks.

Vitello was there last year when Christian Moore was selected at #8 by the Los Angeles Angels in the first round. He should be far more involved this year, with a handful of players as first round projections.
LHP Liam Doyle is considered a top 10 lock, with some projections have him going as high as the Los Angeles Angels at #2. Moore, Doyle, and Ben Joyce eventually together on the same Major League team would certainly have the attention of a number of Vol fans.
IF Gavin Kilen is projected as a middle-first round pick. The Boston Red Sox – who drafted Kilen in the 13th round in 2022 – are a popular pick among draft pundits at #15 overall. 1B Andrew Fischer is projected as a late first round pick as well.
Last year saw 8 players be drafted, so the Vols really are starting to make an impact in amateur baseball’s biggest days. And it’s certainly great publicity and a strong recruiting tool to have your head coach sitting at the event talking about his players getting drafted, which is where high school and transfer players hope to arrive one day.
The MLB Draft gets underway on Sunday at 6:00 pm ET from Atlanta.
