Tulane receiver Chris Brazzell visits Tennessee

A new target to know.

Now according to multiple reports, Tulane receiver Chris Brazzell has completed his visit to Tennessee. The 6-5 receiver is coming off of a productive redshirt freshman season, where he caught 44 passes for 711 yards. Brazzell scored five times for the Green Wave.

The Midland, Texas native is expected to have plenty of suitors with three years of eligibility remaining. Brazzell’s next few weeks will be very busy as several power five programs try to make their impressions.

Brazzell was a three-star prospect in the class of 2022, ranking outside of 247Sports’ top 1,000 overall players. He held offers from FAU, Austin Peay, Pitt, New Mexico State and Southern University. Two years later, Brazzell will pick from a number of powerhouse programs.

Tennessee was burned in a similar spot last year by Isaiah Neyor, who eventually ended up at Texas. The Volunteers were able to pull Dont’e Thornton shortly after, who has a similar skillset to Brazzell.

The Vols will bring back Squirrel White and Thornton next year, and they’re still waiting on a decision from Bru McCoy, who still has one season of eligibility remaining. Chas Nimrod and Kaleb Webb are slated to return, along with Nathan Leacock. Tennessee will also add five-star receiver Mike Matthews and four-star receiver Braylon Staley from the class of 2024. However, as we saw this year, you can never have too much wide receiver depth.

It’s early on Brazzell, and the McCoy decision could play a factor here, but we’ll be keeping an eye on him for the next few weeks.
