The Tennessee Volunteers 24-17 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday night definitely seemed to resonate with coaches and media members across the country.
The Vols jumped back up into the top 10 in both polls on Sunday afternoon.

The Vols moved up significantly in both polls, up 3 spots in the coaches and 4 in the AP. The jump in the AP was noteworthy, as the move up four spots was the highest increase in the polls by any team this week. Tennessee is ahead of LSU – who blasted Arkansas 34-10 on Saturday – in the AP poll by one and one spot behind them in the coaches poll.
Meanwhile, Alabama fell to 15 in both polls. Rare territory for them, as they suffered their second loss before November for the first time since the 2007 season.
In other shakeups around the conference, Texas fell to #5 in the AP Poll and 6 in the coaches poll after a 30-15 loss to Georgia. The Bulldogs leapt up to #2 in both polls. Missouri dropped slightly after a late 21-17 win over Auburn. Vanderbilt found their way into the poll at #25 in both.
Tennessee now heads into their second bye of the season before returning to action on November 2 against the Kentucky Wildcats at Neyland Stadium.
