Just watch the tape
The Vols added their second linebacker to the 2025 class this past weekend when Alabama commitment Jaedon Harmon flipped from the Tide to Tennessee.
Harmon, a consensus four-star prospect, is from Georgia, just like UT’s other LB commit, Christian Gass. The staff is doing a great job recruiting the nearby states and making inroads with programs that pretty consistently deliver talent.
Harmon is currently listed at 6-1, 215, but I would guess he’ll be up to 225 or so before he makes it to campus. And from then — the sky’s the limit. Take Caleb Herring for example. He showed up at about the same weight as Harmon’s listed at, but he’s up to 250 now, though at 6-5, he’s got a much bigger frame to carry the weight.
All his evaluations from the major recruiting sites are behind paywalls, but his junior season highlights are available on his HUDL page.
Junior season:
I’m certainly no scout, but his tape is impressive. Looks like he has good-to-great acceleration for his position that plays when he rushes the quarterback and when he’s in the open field. He doesn’t just tackle… he runs through people. And reminds me of the kind of linebackers we used to field — players who had legitimate sideline-to-sideline speed and hit with ill intent.
