The No. 1 overall player in the 2026 class.
Another day, another splash for Tennessee football on the recruiting trail. The Volunteers shifted to the 2026 class today, picking up the No. 1 overall player in the cycle. Faizon Brandon, a five-star quarterback out of Greensboro, North Carolina, chose Tennessee over LSU, NC State and Alabama this afternoon.
Brandon is the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. The 6-3, 197 pound prospect is the latest elite quarterback to commit to Tennessee under Josh Heupel. Brandon joins the line of Nico Iamaleava, Jake Merklinger and George MacIntyre as the Volunteers continue to stockpile future talent at the most important position on the field.
As a first year starter in 2023, Brandon led his team to a 13-1 record. He threw for just over 3,000 yards, completing 69 percent of his passes. Brandon tossed 36 touchdowns against just three interceptions. He was able to add an additional 528 yards on the ground, scoring nine more times.
The frame, the athleticism, the arm — it’s easy to see why recruiting experts (and the Tennessee staff) have been all over this prospect. See for yourself below.
