A Tennessee veteran has committed to play his final season of eligibility elsewhere. Wesley Walker, a mainstay in the Tennessee secondary for the last two seasons, has committed to play for Louisville for the 2024 season.
Walker made the announcement on Monday on his X account.

Walker is one of a handful of Tennessee defenders to hit the portal and go elsewhere for one final season of eligibility. He joins Tamarion McDonald at Louisville now, following McDonald’s flip from Ole Miss. The two were starters for Tennessee for the better part of the last two seasons.
Doneiko Slaughter, Warren Burrell, Jack Luttrell, Brandon Turnage and De’Shawn Rucker have also all exited via the portal. All of that in addition to losing Kamal Hadden, who saw his eligibility expire following this season, and Gabe Jeudy-Lally, who declared for the NFL Draft.
Tennessee will roll with a completely new look in the secondary going forward. Willie Martinez will start five fresh faces in the backend, as we finally get to see some of these former blue-chip prospects get their shot to play.
The Volunteers have also landed several reinforcements out of the portal, most notably standout freshman cornerback Jermod McCoy and veteran cornerback Jalen McMurray.
