Several Vols will get their shot.
The Tennessee Volunteers had three players come off the board on Saturday, but several more found new homes following the conclusion of the NFL Draft.
Running back Jaylen Wright slid down to round four, landing with the Miami Dolphins. Quarterback Joe Milton ended up in New England in the sixth round, then cornerback Kamal Hadden went to the Kansas City Chiefs shortly after.
And then the mad dash to sign undrafted free agents began, as it does every year. Eight more Volunteers found their next opportunities over the following 24 hours.
Tennessee’s undrafted free agents
TE Jacob Warren — New England Patriots
WR Ramel Keyton — Las Vegas Raiders
TE McCallan Castles — Philadelphia Eagles
LB Aaron Beasley — Seattle Seahawks
CB Gabe Jeudy-Lally — Tennessee Titans
OL JJ Crawford — Carolina Panthers
S Jaylen McCollough — Los Angeles Rams
Returner Dee Williams — Seattle Seahawks
Next up for all eleven of these guys will be the rookie minicamp process, which is set to begin this coming weekend. It’s a short three-day camp setting, allowing these guys to get to the facility and get their feet wet on the field. All drafted players and undrafted players can attend. Obviously for the undrafted guys, it’s a chance to get started and make impressions heading into training camp and the preseason, where they’ll be fighting for a roster spot.
We’ll see how many of these guys can stick once camp wraps up in August.
