It doesn’t get much better than the SEC when it comes to stacking football talent, but somebody has to finish last. And according to ESPN’s College Football Power Index, that team resides in the SEC East.

Per ESPN’s computer program, the Vanderbilt Commodores are slated to be in the cellar of the conference with a projected win-loss total of 4-8 and a 0% chance of winning the division, conference or making the playoff.

Vandy hasn’t posted a winning record on the football field since 2013, going a combined 34-73 in the post-James Franklin era.

Clark Lea is entering the third season at his alma mater following some pretty significant improvement in year two; winning five games for the first time in a half-decade.

Of course, it doesn’t make things easy when teams like Georgia and Tennessee are in your division. But we’ll see how things shake out once the season kicks off vs. Hawaii on Aug. 26.
