Vanderbilt Quarterback’s 8th-Grade Sister Trolls Alabama After Upset Win

The Pavia family probably won’t have to pay for drinks in Nashville for the rest of their lives after quarterback Diego Pavia led Vanderbilt to an historic upset win over Alabama. While the Commodores QB was gracious in victory, his sister was happy to troll the defeated Tide.

Taking to Instagram after the win, Pavia’s sister Abrielle mocked Alabama for losing to Vanderbilt and tagged Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe and wide receiver Ryan Williams for good measure. According to Athlon Sports, Abrielle Pavia is an eighth-grade basketball player in New Mexico who won’t graduate high school until 2029.

“Alabama, what happened? How do you lose to Vanderbilt?” Abrielle Pavia and her friends said in the eight-second video.

How indeed.

Vanderbilt were winless against top five teams heading into today’s game and had not beaten Alabama since 1984. A few mere weeks ago Nick Saban dismissed Vanderbilt as a difficult opponent, declaring “The only place you play in the SEC that’s not hard to play is Vanderbilt.”

Well, Diego Pavia proved to be the X-factor in the game and proved Saban wrong. Pavia completed 80-percent of his passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the first FBS quarterback since 2010 to play that efficiently against a No. 1 team.

The end result was not only the biggest win in Vanderbilt’s history, but the first loss for Alabama since Saban’s retirement earlier this year.
