Whit Muschamp, the son of Georgia defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, committed to a different SEC program.
The class of 2024 quarterback revealed his commitment to Vanderbilt on Saturday.
Muschamp led Baylor School to a Tennessee state championship last season with 29 passing touchdowns. His high school head coach, Erik Kimrey, called the three-star recruit “one of the best quarterbacks in the country” to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.
“I think instinctually he’s elite,” Kimrey said. “He’s got a great feel for the game. His accuracy particularly under duress is incredible. He never puts the ball in jeopardy. He threw two interceptions last year, one in the first game of the year and one on a Hail Mary. Of course, he has the ability to extend plays and make you look cool when you call a bad play.”
He’s the 52nd-rated quarterback from the class on 247Sports.
Muschamp joins quarterback Jeremy St-Hilaire and edge rusher Callahan Blair as Vanderbilt’s third 2024 commit. The Commodores went 5-7 last year, matching their win total from the previous three seasons combined while snapping a 26-game SEC losing streak.
