Nashville Predators News & Notes
When do Preds fans start to worry about Dante Fabbro? | On the Forecheck
Dante Fabbro’s career has been an interesting one for sure. As Jeff mentions, the Preds put HIIIIIIIGH expectations on Fabbro before he really had a chance to get his footing in the NHL (for comparison’s sake, look at how the Preds have handled Tolvanen, Tomasino, and Cody Glass over the past few years). That’s likely what caused some fans to sour on his development. This season though, Fabbro’s played solid hockey, and that’s all the Preds can ask for at this moment. It’s unclear if he’ll ever become that franchise centerpiece on the blueline, but there’s nothing that makes me think he can’t develop into a reliable top-four guy for years to come.
Locked On Predators: 1-on-1 With Chase McLane | Locked On Predators
My Locked On co-host (and OTF colleague) Ann Kimmel got the chance to meet with Preds prospect Chase McLane for a fun 1-on-1 interview while his Penn State team were in town to face North Dakota at Bridgestone. It includes a lol-worthy story about Chase nearly “ghosting” David Poile on draft night.

Definitely not the worst thing in the world for Caufield. This is a good chance to find his game away from all of the behind-the-scenes chaos unfolding in Montreal.

Shane Wright’s exceptional path to the top of the NHL draft board | Sportsnet.ca
I asked OTF’s resident prospect guru Eric Dunay about the comparisons of Shane Wright to Connor McDavid. He says those are a little unfair, but that Wright is, quote, “not far behind.” Either way, someone’s going to get a franchise-changing talent in this upcoming draft.

Swiss league goalie lets in two of the worst goals you’ll see all year… in the same game | Bardown
The first one is bad. The second one kinda of gives off Dan Ellis-2008 vibes.
That also raised a question with me: What IS the worst goal you remember seeing at the NHL level? Vesa Toskala? Chris Osgood? Dan Cloutier? Let us know below.
