Not sure I could get on board with this one
Dane Brugler has released his first 2024 NFL mock draft, and he has the Titans taking Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama with the 10th pick. Look, if you have been around here long you know that I am a huge Alabama fan. I am all for the Tennessee Titans adding all of the players from Tuscaloosa that they can, but I just can’t get on board with the Titans taking a defensive player in the top 10 of the 2024 NFL Draft. The needs on offense are just too high. Sure, they will add players in free agency that will somewhat shift the needs they have, but they are not going to be able to add all of the pieces they need for the offense. I would much rather have Keon Coleman or Rome Odunze here.
This is nothing against Turner. He has 8 sacks this season and has gotten so much better in his time at Bama. He has not touched his ceiling yet, which is exactly what you want in a guy with his athletic traits.
Here is what Brugler had to say about the pick:
With Will Levis likely penciled in as the Titans’ 2024 starting quarterback, the front office can focus this offseason on building up the offensive line, adding more weapons and strengthening the defense.
There are greater needs on the roster, but the pass rush has been wildly inconsistent this season (when the Titans aren’t playing the Panthers). Turner is a freak-show talent — both against the run and while rushing the passer — and continues to get better.
How would you grade this pick for the Titans?
