2025 NFL Draft: Titans Second Round Bust Could Be Cut

April 20, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

titans will levis cut

Tennessee Titans former second-round bust Will Levis will likely be cut as the team may struggle to find trade suitors during the NFL Draft. According to Bleacher Report, it’s very obvious the Titans will move on from the quarterback and possibly draft Cam Ward with the first-round pick. The team could receive calls about Levis, who the Titans will make available after two failing back-to-back seasons, recording 3,899 yards, 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions with a 61 percent completion rate in 21 games. Originally selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, it’s hard to imagine the former Penn State and Kentucky product will have a starting role anytime soon in the league.

However, it’s better than sitting on the Titans’ bench, where they probably won’t use him. Levis began as the third-string quarterback behind former veteran Ryan Tannehill. Levis got the starting job when Tannehill went down with a brutal injury, which created a path for the quarterback to succeed, but after firing Mike Vrabel, the quarterback wasn’t the same as he used to be. Despite the departures of Tannehill and Malik Willis, Levis couldn’t take advantage as the Titans were on a rocky 1-4 start with Mason Rudolph as their backup. He never got back to his old self, later tearing his AC joint, but came back, and his performance was nothing but horrendous.

With that, it makes sense that the Titans would need to start new. Levis might not win the starting job for a long time, but these two teams could give him a fighting chance to revive his career.

2025 NFL Draft: Titans Second Round Bust Will Levis Could Be Cut – Saints, Panthers Top Fits

Replacing Derek Carr

Unfortunately for the Saints fans, it’s another chaotic offseason, and it doesn’t look like it’ll get easier for the future of this organization. General Manager Mickey Loomis refuses to rebuild this team, which signals a concern for head coach Kellen Moore’s future in New Orleans, who needs all the support to lead this roster. With Derek Carr potentially out for the entire year, the Saints will have to rely on Spencer Rattler this upcoming season unless they draft another quarterback. Moore will have to start this team from scratch without an adequate quarterback, so Loomis must let the Saints succeed, and the only way they do that is by trading for another signal-caller with some potential upside.

Spencer Rattler got the chance to start for the Saints last year after Carr went down with another injury. If the Saints want to boost their chances, they should get Levis, who might have something to revive this roster. He might not start since the Saints have faith in Rattler, but it gives both quarterbacks a chance to showcase their skills.

More Help for Young

Meanwhile, the offense for the Carolina Panthers couldn’t be better. The team is no postseason contender, but assuming from the end of their 2024 campaign, it looks like Bryce Young is finally thriving. The good news is that they’re re-signing Andy Dalton in case of anything. However, he’s more of a bridge quarterback. Dalton can’t single-handedly lead this team to at least a wild-card like he did in the old days during his time as a Bengal.

Levis has a lot of years ahead of him. If it came down to him and Dalton, Levis would win the job and come in if Young begins to underperform again.
