One of the best offensive tackles of the past decade may be looking for a new team to call his own this coming spring after the big announcement he just made.
On Wednesday, three-time Pro Bowl tackle Taylor Lewan confirmed reports that he has been released by the Tennessee Titans. He thanked the fans for their support through the years and expressed hope that he’ll be remembered fondly by them.
“I hope I did enough to create something all the titan fans can be proud of, I love you all,” Lewan wrote.
Fans have already taken to the comments to thank him for his contributions to the team and hope that he gets inducted into their Ring of Honor some day:
“Thank you so much for all you did. We appreciate you so much. Best of luck in your future endeavors!” one user replied.
“Thank you for everything 77. Definitely going to still rep your jersey! An all-time Titan and you deserve to be in the ring of honor some day. Best wishes for whatever is next!” wrote another.
“Helluva run brother. The Titans were lucky to have you for it. Best of luck on whatever comes next,” ESPN’s Field Yates wrote.
Lewan was the No. 11 overall pick out of Michigan in the 2014 NFL Draft. After playing situationally as a rookie, he became the Titans’ starting left tackle in 2015 and held the role in every game he played for the next few years.
Between 2016 and 2018, he made three straight Pro Bowls.
