Identifying the standouts from the early portion of Tennessee Titans training camp

The Tennessee Titans have had a handful of training camp practices, including Saturday’s “Back Together” session at Nissan Stadium. On Tuesday, the Titans will hold their first practice of camp in pads. That should increase the physical intensity as Brian Callahan prepares for the upcoming 2025 campaign.

To celebrate padded practices beginning, we’ve identified five standouts from Titans training camp so far.

Femi Oladejo

Femi Oladejo has earned majority of first-team reps with Dre’Mont Jones at EDGE. Oladejo has taken advantage of those reps, routinely impacting the quarterback in the pocket. The second-round rookie was said to be raw coming out of UCLA, but he’s been impressive early in camp, and Callahan admitted he’s “ahead of the curve” before Saturday’s practice.

Jeffery Simmons

Jeffery Simmons slimmed down for camp this season and looks significantly more explosive. NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah was at Saturday’s practice and noted his dominance. Simmons appears slated for a massive campaign after two disappointing seasons in a row.

Couple nuggets from Titans camp visit today—

1) Cam Ward is at the facility every day at 530 watching tape. He’s already won over the org & locker room.

2) Jeffery Simmons was dominant. He’s in shape and ready to roll.

3) There’s a lot of excitement about rookie WRs and TE.

Kevin Winston Jr.

Rookie safety Kevin Winston Jr. keeps making plays. At Saturday’s scrimmage, the rookie defensive back out of Penn State had a pass breakup and backfield hurry, per Jim Wyatt. At a prior practice, Winston wrestled an interception away from TE Josh Whyle. It’s going to be difficult to keep the first-year playmaker off the field this year.

Cam Ward

Cam Ward was “mid” during the first two open practices, but generated a handful of explosive plays during Saturday’s session at Nissan Stadium. Calvin Ridley, Van Jefferson, Tyler Lockett, and Chig Okonkwo were all on the receiving end of big-time gains. Ward has made a few mistakes, but his hunger for generating explosives was evident on Saturday.

Tyjae Spears

Trusted sources in attendance have said Tyjae Spears has been the Titans’ fastest, most explosive player on offense. Spears’ sophomore campaign (2024) was derailed by recurring injuries. It’d be great to have him back in the mix with Tony Pollard in 2025.

Honorable mentions: Calvin Ridley, Jarvis Brownlee, Cody Barton, James Williams, JC Latham
