A Clear Betting Favorite Has Emerged To Sign DeAndre Hopkins

The Tennessee Titans are sudden betting favorites to sign DeAndre Hopkins.

As noted by NBC Sports, the line shifted drastically from +500 on Wednesday to -300 on Thursday morning.

However, it appears the odds are evening out. As of this writing, Tennessee dropped to -175 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Titans remain a prohibitive favorite ahead of the New England Patriots (+200) and Kansas City Chiefs (+330).

Hopkins has reportedly received offers from Tennessee and New England but is waiting on Kansas City to clear cap space by signing Chris Jones to a long-term extension.

The Buffalo Bills are the next contender at +1200. ESPN’s Jeff Darlington said Buffalo is interested “if he wants to ring chase” and sign at a discount, but the wideout responded to the rumor with some unflattering emojis.

On Sunday, ESPN’s Mike Reiss said the Titans have been “more aggressive” pursuing Hopkins than the Patriots. That’s likely not enough to cause such a seismic betting change, so Vegas might have received some intel pointing to Tennessee.

Then again, it’s also possible more bettors followed the herd and jumped on the Titans once they noticed the line shortening without any real reason.

Tennessee could certainly use Hopkins after finishing 30th in passing offense last season. Robert Woods, who signed with the Houston Texans this offseason, led the Titans with just 527 receiving yards.
